About Gerald Ware

  • I’m a farm kid from Siloam Springs, AR who still gets up early to do chores, just different ones now.
  • Married 46 years to my college sweetheart, Dee Ann, with two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
  • I’m one of a set of identical triplets (Gerald, Darrel and Harold) who are also ministers.
  • My brothers and I worked as singing waiters at The Crystal Pistol (Six Flags over Georgia) and The Farmhouse in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC during our college years.
  • We were privileged to perform with such personalities as Debbie Reynolds, Dan Blocker, Grandpa Jones, Cynthia Clawson, and Mark Lowry.
  • My brothers and I were honored to sing at the 1984 Billy Graham Crusade in Oklahoma City.
  • As soloist, I played the part of Jesus in “The Promise” at Glen Rose, TX.
  • In August of 2020, I fully retired after 37 years from First Baptist Church of Richardson, TX where I worked in the music and pastoral care  ministries.
  • My wife and I love to drive her high school graduation gift— a completely restored 1970 VW Bug…sweet!
  • In addition to watching the Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks, my hobbies are golf, fishing, working out, and hunting wild hogs (along with eating at my favorite restaurant, Hutchins Bar-B-Que in McKinney).
  • Favorite Bible verses: Psalm 100 and Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
  • I believe in the “One Plus” principle—doing more than what is asked of you, no matter how small or large the request. What a great life principle for both the workplace and the home, especially in the marriage relationship. ALWAYS look for ways to undergird and strengthen that relationship.
  • I am a “note writer,” writing more than 25,000 notes of encouragement to church members, staff, and anyone I see ministering to someone who is giving that “One Plus” effort.
